Visiting a breathtaking new world 🌏 Exoplanet Travel Video

I had the incredible chance to be the first filmmaker to ever visit MS-83, a newly discovered exoplanet 34 light years away from Earth, because it was not terraformed yet, you will need a respiratory mask to walk it’s lands.
Breathing MS-83 air could lead to color blindness and the loss of eyebrows hair.
I had the chance to follow a visitor for a hike between the desert and the blue forests of MS-83, it is a fascinating experience that i will never forget.

If you come to this planet, please do not take any living or mineral element with you on your trip back, this planet is classified and need to be protected.

It took almost 1 year and 4 trips around the world to create this new travel destination by mixing footage i shot in :
– Norway
– France
– Portugal
– Spain

Nikon in Space: time-lapse view of the world | Nikon 100th Anniversary

Nikon’s history in Space began with the Nikon Photomic FTN, a modified Nikon F camera that was used aboard the Apollo 15 in 1971 and Nikon cameras have been aboard every manned space flight since. This film, edited by SmugMug Films, is a compiled time-lapse video using thousands of still images. The bright flashes are lightning strikes hitting the earth, watch and enjoy.

This is the first of many remarkable moments, both big and small, which we will be sharing in the lead up to Nikon 100th Anniversary! Stay tuned for more. 🙂

World’s First Live 360 Rocket Launch: Orbital ATK CRS-7

NASA, in coordination with United Launch Alliance (ULA) and Orbital ATK, will broadcast the world’s first live 360-degree stream of a rocket launch. This stream will begin at approximately 11:00a.m. EDT on April 18th, and will last until the rocket is out of sight. This stream enables you to look around in 360 degrees -as if you were actually standing on the launch pad.

The Orbital ATK CRS-7 resupply mission to the International Space Station is scheduled to launch during a 30 minute window opening at 11:11a.m. EDT. Orbital ATK’s Cygnus spacecraft will launch on a ULA Atlas V rocket carrying more than 7,600 pounds of science research, crew supplies and hardware to the orbiting laboratory.

NASA & TRAPPIST-1: A Treasure Trove of Planets Found

Seven Earth-sized planets have been observed by NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope around a tiny, nearby, ultra-cool dwarf star called TRAPPIST-1. Three of these planets are firmly in the habitable zone.

Over 21 days, NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope measured the drop in light as each planet passed in front of the star. Spitzer was able to identify a total of seven rocky worlds, including three in the habitable zone, where liquid water might be found.

The video features interviews with Sean Carey, manager of the Spitzer Science Center, Caltech/IPAC; Nikole Lewis, James Webb Space Telescope project scientist, Space Telescope Science Institute; and Michaël Gillon, principal investigator, TRAPPIST, University of Liege, Belgium.

The system has been revealed through observations from NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope and the ground-based TRAPPIST (TRAnsiting Planets and PlanetesImals Small Telescope) telescope, as well as other ground-based observatories. The system was named for the TRAPPIST telescope.

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California, manages the Spitzer Space Telescope mission for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, Washington. Science operations are conducted at the Spitzer Science Center at Caltech in Pasadena. Spacecraft operations are based at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, Littleton, Colorado. Data are archived at the Infrared Science Archive housed at Caltech/IPAC. Caltech manages JPL for NASA. This 4K visualization shows the Moon’s phase and libration at hourly intervals throughout 2017, as viewed from the northern hemisphere. Each frame represents one hour. In addition, this visualization shows the Moon’s orbit position, sub-Earth and subsolar points, distance from the Earth at true scale, and labels of craters near the terminator.
